English Bassoon Concertos ASV CD WHL 2132 (2002)
In a review of this CD of English Bassoon Concertos for Manchester Sounds Vol 3 –2003 Michael Kennedy, the distinguished music critic, writes; “Peter Hope’s work is also called Concertino and is the most recently composed- in 2000 when he was 70. It is also the most adventurous and wide ranging of the four, with a rhythmically tense first movement, a slightly Gershwinesque ‘blues’ slow movement in which the bassoon has a jazzy duet with the vibraphone and a finale in Latin American mood. I hope other bassoonists will take up this entertaining work”

Peter Hope’s Songs and Chamber Music
In the International Record Review
November 2007, Piers Burton-Page writes: “….the music is often fresh, energetic, spontaneous, accessible. It is beautifully varied and immensely well crafted and never feels commercial; it is not light music and for me avoids any sense of easy pastiche or pastoralism.”
